Timorous Beasties

It's Follow Friday!

Timorous Beasties is an interior company based in Glasgow, Scotland founded in 1990 by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons.  The pair met during their student days, studying at Glasgow School of Art.  Their hand-drawn motifs are heavily illustrative creating unique, beautiful and detailed designs inspired by nature.  Timorous Beasties are well known for their wallpapers and fabrics which are mainly printed by hand, but occasionally digitally printed.

They open their first shop in Glasgow in 2004, then opened a shop in Central London in 2007.  As they became more successful, they began several other projects by experimenting with lighting, ceramics, rugs, lace and jacquards.  Timorous Beasties have collaborated with brands such as Brintons Carpets, Nike and Famous Grouse.

'In 2011 they produced a bespoke collection of cushions for John Lewis Department Stores, an exclusive range of textiles and home accessories for Liberty of London and home accessories for the newly refurbished National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh.'
