V&A - British Design 1948-2012 Exhibition

Following from yesterday's post with New Designers, I also went to the Victoria and Albert Museum whilst I was in London.  They currently have an exhibition called 'British Design 1948-2012' which celebrates the last 50 years of design.  I really enjoyed this exhibition and was amazed with how much as changed over the years and how much art had influenced culture, fashion and music.

Throughout the 80s and 90s Central Saint Martins University has exceptional fashion talent.  This also made a great time for fashion particularly as many new designers emerged bringing fantastic talent with the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes, Alexander McQueen, Lucienne and Robin Day.

Design improved everywhere, interior magazines brought new trends for home improvements, graphic design reinvented itself, technology has improved and changed so much since the second world war and still is.

Britain has had a phenomenal 50 years within design and I am sure there is still so much more to come.

*Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take any photography during this exhibition but I would recommend everyone to take a look for themselves.
